The chapter on how those handheld LCD and tabletop units brought the arcade glow into living rooms is exactly the nostalgia trip I wanted, and the photos of the machines are so crisp you can almost hear the bleeps. I ended up reading half the book out loud to my wife, pointing at every console I rem

The deep dive into how arcade cabinets got shrunk into tabletop units is exactly the niche history I've been hunting for, and the neon-tinged chapter on 70s and 80s design had me flipping pages slowly just to soak it in. It's the kind of book that makes you want to dust off your old Coleco and actua
